Recruitment subsidy can be granted to employers (companies, associations, and foundations) operating in the City of Jyväskylä or the Muncipality of Muurame who hire a job seeker from Jyväskylä or Muurame, who is unemployed, in training, or at risk of unemployment.
As part of the recruitment subsidy, there is a cash bonus if the job seeker is employed by the company for a longer period. With the bonus, the recruitment subsidy can amount to up to €13,000. We can also assist employers in finding suitable employees if needed!
Recruitment subsidy can be applied for employment relationships starting in 2026. The employment contract with the new employee can begin no earlier than January 1, 2026, and the application must be submitted within one month of the start of the employment.
Recruitment subsidy is granted within the limits of available funds and is discretionary.
Employers can alternatively apply for youth recruitment subsidy for hiring job seekers aged under 30. The employment relationship must last at least six months, and the maximum amount of support available is €9,000.
Recruitment subsidy is applied for from the home municipality of the employee. If the selected employee's home municipality is Muurame, the support is applied for and the matter is handled by the municipality of Muurame. If the selected employee's home municipality is Jyväskylä, the support is applied for from the City of Jyväskylä.
Once logged in, the employer can, among other things, track the progress of their subsidy application, respond to requests for additional information, and participate in discussions.

The job seeker is a foreign-language university graduate or a foreign-language professional in the field.
The job seeker’s registration must have been active for at least one (1) month immediately prior to the start of employment, and they must be unemployed or at risk of unemployment.
Maximum support: €1,200 per month
The subsidy is intended to cover costs arising from hiring an employee, such as recruitment expenses, workspace, tools and work clothing, onboarding and supervision costs, expenses related to strengthening language skills, job customization, permit card training, as well as certification and licensing training.
The recruitment subsidy supports employers in hiring a new employee. It lowers the threshold for employers to recruit new staff. The aim of the recruitment subsidy is to create permanent employment relationships. The recruitment subsidy cannot be granted for the same employee if the employer has previously received a wage subsidy, recruitment subsidy, or municipal supplement for that person.
The amount of the recruitment subsidy depends on the person hired, the wage costs, and the duration of the employment. In addition, the employer will receive a bonus if the employment contract is long enough.

Wage costs refer to the employee’s taxable salary, i.e., gross salary. The amount of the recruitment subsidy is determined based on wage costs. The recruitment subsidy is not granted for wage costs themselves but for expenses arising from recruitment.
The costs do not include employer-paid contributions for the employee’s sickness, pension, unemployment, accident, or group life insurance. These employer contributions are added on top of the gross salary and do not appear on the payslip.
However, the use of the recruitment subsidy does not need to be reported when the payment is made.
For employers engaged in economic activity, the subsidy is granted as de minimis aid.

Yes, it can. The recruitment subsidy can be applied for within one month of signing the employment contract with the employee.
The handler of the recruitment subsidy application will check the eligibility conditions for both the employer and the job seeker and decide on granting the subsidy. The employer must apply for the payment of the subsidy separately.
