Financial support for hiring

As an employer, you can receive significant financial support for hiring a job seeker.

These supports are directly linked to the person being hired and are primarily intended to cover the employee's wage costs.

Wage subsidy

Wage subsidy is a discretionary support intended to promote the employment of an unemployed job seeker. The purpose of a wage-subsidized job is to facilitate the job seeker's employment in the open labor market.

Wage subsidy can be granted under certain conditions for the employment of an unemployed person who has deficiencies in professional skills, or whose permanent or long-term disability or illness reduces their chances of obtaining suitable employment, or who is a long-term unemployed person aged 60 or over.

The wage subsidy is 50–70% of the salary, depending on the duration of unemployment (support period of 5 or 10 months).

Financial support for hiring the first employee

The municipal subsidy can be granted to an employer who hires a job seeker registered in the Jyväskylä-Muurame employment area. The support is intended for hiring the company's first employee.

The person to be hired does not need to be an unemployed job seeker, but they must have an active job search when the application is processed.

The subsidy can be up to €500 per month for a maximum of 12 months.
