Change Training

With Change Training, your company can demonstrate responsibility for the future of your employees when work ends, and your company has to lay off staff for production or economic reasons, or when staff are indefinitely laid off and returning to their previous job is uncertain.

Change Training helps laid-off employees find a new profession or job. The duration of the training varies on a case-by-case basis but is at least 10 days.

Change Training can be combined with other business and employer services, such as business development services, wage subsidies, or apprenticeships. The training program is tailored to the needs of the participants.

A representative of the City of Jyväskylä participates in planning the content of the training and procures the trainer. The implementation and quality of the training are monitored together.

Who is Change Training intended for and under what conditions:

Change Training is intended for all employers who need to reduce their staff or cease operations entirely. The training can also be used in the case of indefinite layoffs. The training is also suitable for public sector employers. No degrees or partial degrees are awarded in Change Training.

The service is discretionary. Change Training does not fund regular induction and staff training, which are the employer’s responsibility, nor training that employers organize according to national training standards.

In layoff situations, cooperation between the employer, employees, and the labor authority is regulated by legislation concerning change security.

The service is chargeable.
