Youth recruitment subsidy
Youth recruitment support is for companies operating in the City of Jyväskylä or in the Municipality of Muurame. One can apply for support for hiring an unemployed job seeker who is aged under 30, from Jyväskylä or Muurame and has been unemployed for at least six months.
Half of the salary costs are paid to the company as the youth recruitment support, up to a maximum of €1,500 per month. The employer can receive support for six months. The company must commit to hiring the young person on a permanent or fixed-term contract for at least six months. Support may also be granted for apprenticeship training if other conditions are met.
Youth recuitment subsidy must always be applied before the start of the employment, and its granting is discretionary. The support is paid as de minimis aid.
The application form of the youth recruitment support will open in February 2026.
How to apply for youth recruitment subsidy
- Review the conditions and amount of the recruitment subsidy.
The job seeker to be hired can confirm their eligibility for the recruitment subsidy and its amount primarily with their personal coach or by calling the general advisory number for job seekers: +358 14 569 0134. - If you do not yet have an employee, we will support you in finding a suitable candidate.
Call the employer advisory number +358 14 569 1332 or submit a contact request using the form on this page. We will search for and present suitable candidates to the employer by email or in another agreed way. We will send the information of the candidates to the employer electronically via the suomi.fi service or by other mutually agreed means. Please note that the Suomi-fi service requires logging in. - Apply for youth recruitment support using the electronic form on the eAsiointi portal. The application form for youth recruitment support will open in February 2026.

We will contact you by phone if we need further information. - As an employer, you will receive the recruitment subsidy agreement by email. Along with the decision, the employer will receive instructions on how the recruitment subsidy will be paid to the employer.

The employer must have a business location in Jyväskylä or Muurame.

Youth recruitment support is aimed at companies engaged in economic activity.

Support must be applied for and agreed upon with the authority responsible for granting support, before the contract of employment is concluded.

The employment contract must be for at least six months.

The support period is six months.

The number of employees in a company does not affect the granting of subsidies.

The subsidy covers 50% of monthly salary costs, up to a maximum of €1,500 per month.

The salary must be in accordance with the collective agreement applicable to the employment relationship in question. If there is no applicable collective agreement, a normal and reasonable salary must be paid.

Support can be applied for part-time work, variable working time contracts and apprenticeship training.

Support will not be granted if the employer has neglected its obligations to pay taxes or statutory contributions.

Support will not be granted if the employer has dismissed employees for productive or economic reasons in such a way that the employee's notice period has ended within 12 months prior to the application for support and the number of employees has decreased as a result.

Support will not be granted if the employer has been granted wage support or a municipal subsidy for the employment of the same jobseeker and less than three years have passed since the end of the support.

Support is granted once for the same employee to the same employer. The annual number of recruitment support decisions for an employer is discretionary, depending on the needs of the sector and the availability of labor.

The subsidy is paid retrospectively based on salary payment receipts.

The person to be hired must be a resident of the City of Jyväskylä or the Muncipality of Muurame.

The job seeker, aged under 30, must have been unemployed for at least six months during the seven months immediately preceding the conclusion of the agreement, or who has received only the syllabus of basic education and has been unemployed for at least three months immediately prior to the conclusion of the agreement.

Support cannot be granted for the hiring of an employee whose salary costs or recruitment have already been covered by salary support, recruitment support, or municipal subsidies, and less than three years have passed since the end of the support period.
