Cefmof is partnering Jyväskylä Business Rally Investor Day in August

The Business Rally Investor Day brings innovative start-ups and growth companies face-to-face with corporations, venture capitalists, angel investors and other partners. This year the event is hosted by the City of Jyväskylä, Central Finland Mobility Foundation Cefmof and the European Business Angels Network EBAN in co-operation with Finnish Business Angels Network FiBAN and The Startup Factory – Jyväskylä based incubator. 

The goal of the Business Rally Investor Day is to facilitate meaningful connections between business angel investors and startup companies. This year the new partner for the event is Central Finland Mobility Foundation which has been established by the City of Jyväskylä, TOYOTA GAZOO Racing World Rally Team and Toyota Mobility Foundation in January 2024.

Cefmof’s Executive Director Haruka Arai will be part of the Investor Day jury and the new partner will offer one nominated start-up the opportunity to join a 2-year incubation program at the Yritystehdas, Startup Factory in Jyväskylä.

Investor Day features 8 curated startups raising either seed funding or series A rounds who will be presenting their business cases for investment. The call for start-ups is open and this year, we are looking for start-ups that offer solutions for sustainability, carbon neutrality, performance and well-being.

-We are especially excited to meet with startups having solutions and innovations towards Carbon Neutrality. In particular, innovations to decarbonize transport, energy, and industry including hydrogen (H2), renewable energy, and carbon emission reduction etc., Haruka says.

About Haruka Arai

Haruka Arai is Executive Director of Cefmof. Cefmof is a foundation established by the City of Jyväskylä, the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing World Rally Team and the Toyota Mobility Foundation with the main objective of creating a carbon neutral future.

Haruka started her career in sales planning and market research analysis at NTT DOCOMO, a Japanese telecommunications company, in 2010. She gained experience in corporate, business planning and business cooperation through a secondment to a subsidiary. She was responsible for promoting open innovation between start-ups and NTT Group and investing in start-ups at NTT DOCOMO Ventures (NDV), which has been DOCOMO's venture capital company since 2020. 

NTT DOCOMO Ventures has operated funds for over 15 years and invested in over 190 companies in Japan, the USA, Europe and Israel etc.  About 27% of Japanese portfolio companies became IPO. At NDV, Haruka supported and invested in i.e., software, SaaS, digital health, and circular economy start-ups both in B2B and B2C sectors.
