A place for growth in the middle of the city
Kangas is the most significant urban development project in the city of Jyväskylä, located on the site of a former paper mill. Kangas will make the latest insights in urban planning and smart and sustainable construction of the future come true. The new residential and business area is over 30 hectares in size and is planned to be completed by 2040. At that time, Kangas is expected to have a population of over 5,000 and to employ about 2,100 people.
Kangas is an excellent place for future-creating and innovative companies that want to be involved in developing a new kind of business cluster and ecological district in Jyväskylä. Kangas combines sustainable urban construction with the latest technologies and digital services. Social well-being and communality are core values.
Currently, there are more than 30 companies operating in Kangas and more than a thousand employees. Kangas is becoming an integral working environment, where, in addition to high-quality business premises and shared operating opportunities, both built and natural local green areas are central.
The location of Kangas is excellent for companies, situated between the centre of Jyväskylä, the versatile trade and service hub of Seppälä and the lush river Tourujoki, as well as along good pedestrian and bicycle connections. An area of more than 30 hectares provides companies with everything they need, from business premises to business services and, of course, customers.
A third of the companies in Jyväskylä are within walking distance of Kangas!
