Jyväskylä’s new hospital, the Nova Hospital of Central Finland, is a hospital of the future, with the patient being at the heart of everything.
The aim is to provide a thorough healthcare solution, in which prevention and wellbeing play a significant part. The new hospital is currently under construction and will be completed in 2020.
Business, research, and production facilities will be built right next to the hospital. These facilities will open up new business opportunities in developing healthcare activities, as well as, providing accommodation for the elderly. A new, innovative, and cybersecure environment will be built in the area for health, wellbeing, and healthcare technology enterprises.

The Kukkula area brings together healthcare professionals, researchers, and companies and will provide work for about 5,000 people when completed
A network of companies, educational institutions, customers, and healthcare personnel will be created in the area between 2020–2030. This network enables entirely new solutions to be created and piloted. The overall project is called “Kukkula”. It will rise around the Nova Hospital of Central Finland. The area is close to the city centre and the University of Jyväskylä.
Kukkula is an opportunity for investors to take part in the development of a modern centre of competence. It brings together preventive healthcare services, top experts, an international business and research community, as well as, the latest digital solutions.
Kukkula is also an inspiring work environment for local, national and international promotion of health. Hippos, the most versatile centre of exercise and wellbeing in the Nordic countries, is also located in a near vicinity.

The Vision 2030 for the Jyväskylä city centre 2030 is a comprehensive plan for the development of the city centre and the urban structure it is a part of. It also includes guidelines for the development of transportation links, business and cultural activity.
